Singapore Tourist Visa for Indians

Singapore Tourist Visa for Indians

A visit to Singapore is the first international trip for many Indians. And due to the country’s huge popularity, the visa process has also been simplified. Therefore, applying for Singapore tourist visa is easier now. Wondering how?

In this blog post, you’ll find everything that you need to know about the Singapore tourist visa for Indians including details on documents required for the electronic Singapore tourist visa and also the immigration experience at Changi International Airport.

How to apply for a Singapore Tourist Visa

Applying for the Singapore Evisa involves some manual effort because you must apply through an authorised agent only. There are many agents all over India like Thomas Cook and Akbar Travels who help get a tourist visa for Singapore.

Taking an agent’s help makes the whole process very smooth as well. They help with the complete process including filling the right forms and handling the passports.

FAQs:
  • Is Singapore Visa on Arrival?
No, there is no visa on arrival facility for Indian travelers and tourists currently.
  • Can I apply for a visa on my own?
You must apply for the Singapore Visa through an authorised agent only.
  • How to apply for a Singapore Transit Visa?
The same application form used for the tourist visa can be used to obtain a Singapore Transit visa. There have been instances where people have been granted transit visa in the Changi Airport, but rarely so. The Visa free transit is only permitted if the passport already carries a long term visa of USA/UK/Australia or other designated countries.
  • Is a transit Visa required if I don’t leave the airport?
That depends on a number of factors like if you have been issued all boarding passes including the journey into Singapore and onward journey out of Singapore (where the airline manages transfers). And the transit visa may not be required when you have no intention of stepping out of the international terminal. Therefore, contact the airline for the best guidance.

Sorry Jasson, we don’t have a first hand experience of extending it (we didn’t do it) but you can probably approach the local immigration office or check with the immigration officer once you’re stamped in 🙂
